Overview
The Media Relations Intern will primarily assist the Media Relations team by helping with media monitoring and media event management. This position offers valuable exposure to the day-to-day functions of media relations, communications management, and public relations operations. Must have keen interest in news, current events and social media. Proficiency in using AI tools is an advantage.
Responsibilities
1. Provide support to the Media Relations team in the areas of media monitoring and analysis and during media events.
2. Assist in maintaining and updating the media contact database.
3. Assist in monitoring media coverage and preparing daily or weekly media clippings and reports across all formats and other resources, including metrics and sentiment analysis.
4. Conduct research on media outlets, journalists, specific topics and relevant industry updates.
5. Track and compile reports on media exposure and campaign performance.
6. Support the preparation of materials and logistics for media events and briefings.
7. Perform other related tasks as may be assigned.
Qualifications
· Open to students currently enrolled in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Multimedia, or related degree programs
· Internship must be school-required (with MOA endorsement/signing)
· Open to voluntary interns with a commitment to complete at least 500 internship hours
· Willing and able to participate in a hybrid work arrangement
